Plan of Salvation
PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ THE FOLLOWING AND ASK GOD TO REVEAL THESE TRUTHS TO YOU.
We call it the Plan of Salvation but the word plan insinuates process. Real salvation is not a process that we do.Being born-again by the Spirit of God comes about by the acts of God not Man. Consider the folowing verses.
Notice in these verses the acts of God. Notice that which is highlighted.
Ephesians 1:3-12 (KJV)
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
8 Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;
9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:
10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:
11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
2 Thessalonians 2:13-14 (KJV)
13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Romans 9:15-18 (KJV)
15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.
16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.
17 For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth.
18 Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.
When we look at Romans 9:16 it becomes very clear to us that real salvation comes to us because of God and not us. WE ARE NOT THE CAUSE OF OUR SALVATION. Look at the following verses out of the Gospel of John.
John 6:44 (KJV)
44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
John 6:65 (KJV)
65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.
Now let us deal with the question, do you believe in – whosoever will? My reply is YES ABSOLUTELY. We must ask the question – who makes us willing?
Answer – God does. We respond to God because of God.
CAN WE KNOW FOR SURE THAT WE ARE SAVED? GOD WILL CONFIRM TO US THAT HE HAS SAVED US. READ THE FOLLOWING VERSE.
Romans 8:16 (KJV)
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
Some final thoughts and verses for you to consider;
1. You can not work or do anything to earn your salvation – be saved – or have a place in heaven. read the following verses —
Ephesians 2:8-10 (KJV)
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
NOTICE IN VERSE 10 — WE DO GOOD WORKS BECAUSE OF SALVATION NOT FOR SALVATION.
Titus 3:5 (KJV)
5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
If you want to be a saved, born-again, heaven bound, child of God, you can be.
Romans 10:13 (KJV)
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
When Jesus Christ saves a person you are cleansed and forgiven of all your sins.
1 John 1:7 (KJV)
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
1 John 1:9 (KJV)
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1 Timothy 2:5 (KJV)
5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
You do not need to confess to another man – go to Christ He is the mediator. Talk to Him confess to Him, let your request be made known to Him, then end your conversation by saying, “I ask this in Jesus Name Amen.”
